Shell Drilling Layout Mat

Model Number: LO26

Hey there, sad news...we've shut down shop permanently. So you won't be able to score any drum gear via the website anymore.

The Sparedrum Drum Drilling Layout helps to trace easily on the shells the drilling points where you will insert the lugs, snare throw-off, butt-end, air vents, etc...

For drum shells from 6" to 26"

How to use :

  • On a rigid and flat surface, position the layout mat.
  • Place the shell on the corresponding diameter ring -- the black line should be slightly visible. This will help to ensure that the shell is correctly centered.
  • Hold the shell in position (it must not move.)
  • Use a square to draw lines with a right angle on each colored visual mark that matches your desired lug count.
  • Draw marks where your snare throw-off and butt-end will be positioned using the graph paper sides.
  • Double-check that the lines you drew are correct using your square.
  • Once all the vertical lines are traced, you need to mark horizontal lines with your square to finalize the drilling points according to the dimensions of your hardware

Our advice:

  • Before drilling, check your work several times.
  • Check that you are using the right drills (right diameter, adapted to the shell material)
  • Measure and check carefully the dimensions and center-to-center dimensions of the hardware you want to install
