The Ludwig LE-2367 Guiro produces a ratchet-like sound from parallel ridges cut in one side. You paly it by rubbing a wooden stick (included) across the ridges. This güiro is designed with finger and thumb holes in the middle and is hollow on one end for sound projection. The güiro is a percussion instrument commonly used in Latin-American music. Painted with colors of the Mexican flag.
